Snagwalk helps renovation firms record a walk round a job, turn it into lists, and share those lists with trades and clients. This page explains what we hold, why, and who can see it.
Who is responsible for what
The firm that uses Snagwalk owns its recordings, photos and lists. The firm is the controller of that data. We are its processor: we store and process it only to run the service for the firm. If a firm sent you a link and you want to know what it holds about you, or want it changed or deleted, ask the firm. We will help them answer.
For the firm’s own account details (name, email, billing status), we are the controller.
What we hold
- Walk recordings (audio), photos, transcripts and the items made from them.
- Marks drawn on photos, prices for extra work, and client approvals, including the signature, the time, the IP address and the device type.
- Names, phone numbers and email addresses of the firm’s trades and clients, entered by the firm.
- Fix photos and voice notes that trades send through their link.
- Account details for people at the firm, and whether the firm has a paid plan.
- Crash reports from the app and website, with personal details removed where we can.
Recording people
Walks are recorded. Before each walk the app reminds the firm: “Tell the client and anyone on site that you’re recording.” Telling people is the firm’s duty, as the controller. We don’t record anything unless someone at the firm presses record.
Links for trades and clients
- Each link shows only what is meant for that person: a trade sees only their own items and never prices; a client sees their copy and the extras that need their OK.
- Links need no login. Anyone with the link can open it, so don’t forward it.
- The firm can switch a link off at any time. Links stop working 60 days after the job is closed.
- Link pages are not shown in search engines and don’t pass the link on to other websites.
Who else processes the data
We use these sub-processors to run the service:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage (EU)
- AssemblyAI: turning walk audio into text, using its EU service; audio is deleted after processing (EU)
- Anthropic: drafting items from the transcript and photos; not used for training (US, under UK transfer safeguards)
- Resend: sending emails, such as links and signed approvals (EU sending region)
- RevenueCat: managing app subscriptions; it sees the firm id and plan, not job data (US, under UK transfer safeguards)
- Sentry: crash and error reports (EU)
We don’t sell data, and we don’t use firms’ recordings or photos to train AI models.
How long we keep it
- Recordings, photos, lists and approvals: while the firm keeps the job, or until the firm deletes the job or its account.
- When a job or account is deleted, its media is removed within 30 days, including from backups.
- Signed approvals may be kept by the firm for as long as it needs them as a record of the agreement.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
Export and deletion
A firm can export a job (photos with marks, items and approvals) or delete it with all its media from the app. Deleting the account deletes the firm’s data. To make a request about your own data, contact the firm that sent you the link, or email us at help@snagwalk.app.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how it’s used. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
